Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 3, 20261. Overview
NagiLab is a product brand of Kumo, Inc. (referred to as "we," "us," or "our"). This policy covers our products:
- GyLog — motion data logging app for iOS and Android.
- GyLogSync — free macOS utility for preparing iPhone ProRes RAW footage and gyro logs for Gyroflow Desktop.
- GyLogSync Direct — macOS utility that produces ready-to-use
.gyroflowprojects for DaVinci Resolve via the Gyroflow OFX plugin.
Sections 2–5 cover the GyLog mobile app. Sections 6–7 cover the macOS utilities and how email is handled through our distribution platform (Gumroad). Sections 8–10 apply to all products.
2. Data Collection and Purpose
The primary function of GyLog is to record high-precision motion sensor data from your phone — gyroscope and accelerometer on both iPhone and Android, plus magnetometer on iPhone.
Purpose: This data is recorded locally solely to generate log files compatible with Gyroflow or other video stabilization software.
No Personal Data: GyLog does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII), such as your name, email address, phone number, location, or contacts.
Audio Data (iOS only): If Audio Sync is available in your version of the iOS app and you enable it during setup or in Settings, GyLog records audio solely to synchronize sensor data with external video footage. This feature is off by default and must be explicitly enabled by the user. The Android app does not record audio.
Purchase Data: If you buy GyLog or subscribe to GyLog Pro through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google processes the payment. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and restore access across installs. RevenueCat receives purchase history and app-generated customer identifiers needed for subscription functionality where subscriptions are available. GyLog subscriptions can be managed or canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings on iOS or through Google Play subscriptions on Android.
3. Data Storage and Privacy
- Local Processing: All motion sensor data and, on iOS only where available and enabled, optional audio reference recordings are processed and stored locally on your device.
- No Server Uploads by GyLog: GyLog itself does not upload your recorded data to our servers or any third-party cloud services. On Android, GyLog excludes generated recording files from Android cloud backup and device-transfer rules.
- User Control: You have full control over the generated log files. You can manually export, share, or delete them through the Files app on iOS or your file manager on Android.
4. Permissions
GyLog requests the following permissions; the exact behaviour differs between iOS and Android.
- Motion sensors:
- iOS — requests Motion & Fitness at first launch to access the gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer.
- Android — gyroscope and accelerometer are not protected sensors on Android and require no runtime permission.
- Microphone (iOS only): Requested by the iOS app only if Audio Sync is available and enabled during setup or in Settings. Audio is recorded to synchronize sensor data with external video footage. The Android app does not request or use the microphone.
- Notifications (Android only): Requested on Android 13 and later so GyLog can show an active recording notification while the user-initiated foreground recording service is running.
5. Audio Sync (iOS only, where available)
Some versions of the iOS GyLog app include an optional "Audio Sync" feature for more reliable synchronization. The Android app does not record audio and does not include this feature.
- Purpose: When enabled, audio is recorded as an optional local reference track to help align motion data with camera footage when timestamps drift and waveform alignment is useful.
- Privacy: Audio Sync is off by default and must be manually enabled during setup or in Settings. Audio data is stored locally alongside the motion logs. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
6. GyLogSync and GyLogSync Direct (macOS)
GyLogSync and GyLogSync Direct process your video files and motion logs locally on your Mac.
- Local Processing Only: Both apps process your files entirely on-device. No video, motion log, or other content is uploaded to our servers or any third-party service.
- No Telemetry or Analytics: Neither app collects usage telemetry, crash reports, or analytics.
- No PII Collected by the Apps: The apps themselves do not collect or transmit personally identifiable information.
7. Email Collection via Gumroad
GyLogSync and GyLogSync Direct are distributed through Gumroad, which requires customers to provide an email address to download the apps.
- What we collect: Your email address, plus any additional order metadata Gumroad makes available to sellers (such as country).
- How we use it: To (a) notify you of major releases and updates for the product you downloaded, (b) send critical bug or compatibility notices, and (c) occasionally let you know about other NagiLab tools that pair well with what you have. We will not send third-party marketing or sell your address.
- How emails are sent: Distribution is handled through Gumroad's "Posts" feature, which includes an unsubscribe link in every message.
- Gumroad's role: Gumroad processes payment (when applicable) and stores customer information on their platform. See Gumroad's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling.
- Removal requests: To request removal from our list, email info@kumoinc.com.
8. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties for marketing purposes. There are no advertisements or third-party tracking SDKs integrated into our apps.
The one exception is Gumroad, our distribution platform for the macOS products, as described in Section 7. Gumroad is a third-party service whose use is necessary to deliver the apps and is not used for marketing.
For GyLog Pro subscriptions where available, we also use RevenueCat to process App Store and Google Play subscription status, restore purchases, and manage entitlement access. RevenueCat is not used for advertising or third-party tracking, and subscription cancellation is handled by Apple or Google through your platform subscription settings. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
9. Data Deletion Requests
GyLog does not require account login. Motion logs, generated files, and optional iOS audio reference files where available and enabled are stored locally on your device and can be deleted by you from the app, the iOS Files app, or your Android file manager. We cannot access or delete files that remain only on your device.
For GyLog Pro subscriptions where available, RevenueCat processes purchase history and app-generated customer identifiers needed to manage subscription status and restore access. To request deletion of GyLog subscription data processed by Kumo, Inc. and RevenueCat, email info@kumoinc.com with the app name "GyLog" and your platform, such as Android or iOS.
When we receive a valid deletion request, we will delete or request deletion of associated RevenueCat customer records where permitted. Some records may be retained when required for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or platform payment-processing reasons. Subscription purchase records managed by Apple or Google are controlled through your Apple Account or Google Play account.
